Over the past decade, JOE has emerged as one of Florida’s leading conservationists. In addition to helping permanently protect more than 170,000 acres and promoting species protection and enhancement, JOE has raised the bar for developers in Florida by often exceeding environmental protection standards set by regulators.

In the past, developers may have viewed environmental regulations as barriers to progress, but JOE has proven otherwise. Through a commitment to large-scale land-use planning that carefully considers the environment first, JOE has demonstrated that responsible economic development can also be highly successful.

JOE continues to work with state regulators and environmental organizations on planning and permitting techniques designed to protect watersheds and sensitive lands while directing infrastructure and development to appropriate areas.
